I heard the same about the ant hill dirt and there being wax in their. I would like to know the answer to that also.
Now if I were to make some of this wax dirt and fill a tote up with it, wouldnt the bottom dirt get damp and wet?

Nice to have the sun but I have to use a water jacketed system plus 212 deg wont burn the dirt or wax just keep on a simmer and in about 1 hour I have made 10 gallons of waxed dirt, I also wax the traps the same way wax never burns plus when I am done I can stick the hose in the jacketed drum and cool down the wax in about 15 mins.

I should of done this in July, doesn't look like we're going to be much above 80 for the next ten days. I may have to supply some artifical heat now.

When I was about 30, I trapped in Oklahoma.
We,(the guy I trapped with) took a large piece of stainless metal sheet, set some blocks under it and built a fire to 'dry out' shale we were using as a trap covering...
Worked like a charm !
