I take several buckets of carp for bait each year. I gut and freeze them. Once frozen I use an axe to chop them up for grinding. Then I layer them in a bucket, lay of salt, a layer of fish, etc. Freeze or keep in a cool place and it should be fine come trapping season. Tom

I use carp two ways.
1. Is find shallow creek and stake him down like he is swimming, back fin out of water, about 15 inches from bank.Put something big(i use a rock)as backing, bed 2 traps in water directly in front of fish, then set guide sticks from water edge to rock.
2.I chunk the fish up for bucket sets.
I have taken alot of coon this way! Hope it helps!

Do not go where the path may lead,go instead where there is no path, and leave a trail.

I use carp in all my Mink pockets. Works best to freeze them and cut them up on a band saw.

Works good on coon and mink. Cut it up and freeze it till season.

Can't wait, I like to shoot a bunch, cut up and salt the meat down for turtle trapping, it last longer in the bait box with the warm weather in July. Goodluck
