Checked out a house for sale up there and that is what they said the septic system cost. I guess when the raw materials have to be barged in, that does raise the cost to build things. On the plus side, the house is fully furnished and it has a real grass lawn !!!!!

isn't there somewhere else to post this non sense?? and it depends on where the house is, what the lot geography is, lot location, etc, so it is entirely possible that is what it cost.

Talking on the phone today with a potential fur buyer I watched a deer run out of the timber across the bay and hit the drink. Followed closely by a nice grey wolf. He layed down and waited while the deer swam further down the beach. He didn't even give chase when the deer crawled back out a couple hundred yards away. How full does a wolf have to be?! (There's a marine highway, a road, a powerline, and a residence between me and that shore :(. And the range finder says 464 yds so no, there was no Noslers airborne.) Guy on the phone got a kick out of my reaction though, I could hear him telling me to shoot from the phone on the floor.
Cruising up and down my line the past few weeks scanning the beach has stuck a song in my head...
99 starving deer on the beach, 99 weak, helpless deer, The hounds take one down, pass it around, 98 momentarily lucky deer on the beach.
Tomorrow I start pulling stuff. Time to get the boat ready and get some flat fish. Probably one of the few winters that will keep fur quality up this long. Oh well, gave it a run. If I'm not able to get back on here, everyone take care and read ya next year.

SEwaterboy Thanks for all the input this season. Blessings on the flatfish. I am getting anxious myself. Take care if you can't get back on.

I see in the paper that the Juneau "pet black wolf" that everyone adored because it was "playing with the local dogs," recently ate one of his playmates!
Wonder if this changed any attitudes there?

SEW, have a great season and be safe.
Boys and girls.....our snowmachine season is over. We have had 50 degree temps for almost 7 days now and our streams are running and all of the snow is gone except the huge drifts in the willows.
How's the weather upstream??? Aniakhenry? Takotna? White??
