this may sound like a dumb question but when talking about baits what is the difference between lure an call....what does it mean when you spike something

usually call lure has a reall strong skunky smell,and when u spike something,u put skunk essence in it,i reckon

You can "Spike" urine by adding Glands to it also. If you could try and be a little more specific with your question, we could be more specific with the answers.

im not sure if i can be more specific i dont know what spiking something is so that was my question i dont know the differnece between lure an call how more specific can i be

Most lures will work as "call Lures" some are louder than others which classifies them as LDC "Long Distance Call" lures. Bait is just that..Bait!
Spiking something means "adding to it". In other words, If you took urine and added Glands to it and it would be Urine Spiked with Gland. Or you can take bait and and urine to it and it would be Bait "spiked" with urine. Or you can spike with Skunk essence. Etc.

How do you know the difference between types of lures when you buy them? How do you distinguish what lure is for what purpose? There are Gland lures, food based, and reaction right? How does one know what is what?
