Thanx, do you have any idea how long if they are raw hides that weren't fleshed?

wrap em up tight in garbage bags and you'll be fine.

I'd be very careful if I was you. Freezer burn is going to eventually get 'em, and how long it is before that happens depends on how well you wrap them and keep air away from them. A year is pushing the limit, in my experience, no matter how well you wrap them.

I have no doubt somebody else is going to jump in here with a story of how they kept fur for five years in the freezer and it was fine, but that kind of stuff is the exception rather than the rule.

You will not know how they held up untill you thaw them out. If fur that is in the grease stays in the freezer to long, it will freezer burn or dryout in the freezer.

You can hold coon for a couple years if they are sealed pretty good. Beaver usually last a bit longer.

Nooooo....what you could do is learn to finish your fur.

Like Jim said above, a year is really pushing your luck, unless you have taken carefull steps to seal the bags.
A fella that scrapes coon for me decided to vacum seal all his coon last year. We will know how vacum sealing works ,once he removes his from the freezer.

Really can't say about hides on the vacume pack, but I've been receiving snake skins from various people thru the years that vacume pack them before sending to me,
I've yet to lose one after having them in the freezer two years plus now. I rotate the older ones out to tan when I need them and keep them forzen, works for me great.

I'd imagine if you can get most of the air out of the bag before freezing your would go miles father in keeping them frozen before any damage showed up.
