Kusko is right on, however, I would go to a 9 in. loop. I began my lynx snaring experience with 10 and 10. Got hip catches and occaissional fox catches. Our esteemed member, Northern Bushman, (where is that guy anyway) told me 9 in. loop, 11 in. off the ground. That reduced hip and non target catches. I now make my lynx snares to open to 9 in.
Cable size is 1/16th, and I prefer 1x19 cable. One thing you don't want is to catch a wolverine in your lynx snare. He'll leave with the snare still around his neck, likely. The 11 in. figure will help with that and may also cause you to miss some kittens. Save the kittens for next year.
