Last weekend was a family outting on the trapline. The kids were really excited about what we caught. This red fox really had some nice color. This coon was caught in the woods, nice and black fur on him. This bobcat had to be let go this year, neither Lee or I had a tag for it. It sure has alot of spots for a WI cat. It sure was a fisty one was growling at us the entire time. Lee caught her in the people's garden in the middle of a field. The whole family of the peolple's land had to come and look at it. Here you can really see it's spots. Sure was a shame we had to let it go but maybe next year, LOL. It sure was neat to see the bobcat upclose like that. Jess

Thanks for that share! I trapped in Wisconsin for 40 years, but was never around bobcats. As I recall reading somewhere not that long ago, isn't there a harvest quota on them with a line above and below HWY 64?
Kindly refresh my elder's memory. Thank you.
Jonathan Jonathan, we have to wait for a tag, getting prefrence points (hubby's been waiting 5 yrs) and yes there is a quota but I'm not sure of the number off the top of my head. And yes the line is above Hwy 64. Thanks everyone for the great comments. It sure is fun to be out on the trapline. The youngest sure likes being out with dad . I don't get to be out as much as i'd like but I take advantage of when I can. Jess

Geeze no mud in any of them pics?? my week coon trapping was a mess. Heading out Monday for rats on the Miss. I sure like the look of that red fox, wish there were still enough here to bother chasing.
Nice Photo's!

today i caught another cat , i sure do wish the state would open the tag lottery up alittle more. i have 5 cat points , 7 bear points and 2 points for otter and fisher i believe. i believe i have a awesome little video of the release even. little tom and the bugger even took a swipe at me. maybe the mrs. can do her magic and get it here for you all to see. it's a bummer i can't keep them , but at least their not worth 500.00 a piece . Lee

Very nice pictures. Really enjoyed them. A notch cut in the bottom of a piece of plywood makes that release job much easier and safer. I have one in my truck bed at all times.
