What would be the best bait to use in a cage trap for squirrels? Looking for bot natural, ie; lettuce, peanut butter, etc and commercial.

one half apple with sunbutter spread on it and 5 or 6 david pumpkin seeds stuck in the sunbutter

Everyone has their favorites... I have found consistent positive results using: peanut butter on bread, dip in black sunflower seeds. Then add some WCS squirrel and rodent bait. If that doesn't work, you will have to burn the house down.

I use peanut butter with sunflower seeds & whole raw peanuts pushed into the peanut butter. greedy lil' buggers can't resist

Squirrels eat a variety of things.
Jameson makes a good squirrel bait, Nutcraker I think it's called.

I trap about 90 percent of my squirrels with just plain old shelled corn in a net bag hung from the inside of the trap.

I dont know the name of it, I get it at a cratf store. It is cheap, I think the last I got was .04 cents a foot. I got 10 feet and it cost me .40. It come 2 feet wide x what ever you need.
