Enough interest to do it again this year ?

In these woods we start about November 15 so we should be giving it some thought if we are going to play !

Some idea's are -

- A random drawn prize winner from all the entrants

- Pay out more places this year

- Random drawn teams consisting of 1 adult & 1 Youth

got any other suggestions !

I think we will have alot of intrest in it agian. Sorry i havent pm you on it i have been busy as heck.

I think we should go to atleast 3rd place on the places. I think it should be a free for all also no teams. We could do something also with the drawing at the end of it have a second set of prizes for 2 random drawings

2poor Cedar needs some western exposure, so I will take her, sorry to dissapoint you, but now if I have to take 160loser too then I get some kind of a bonus for having the handicap on my team!!!!

In MN we get out of bed before noon and check traps in the daylight. Most of us our quite handy with a knife and have time to both skin and check in on T-man.

Having Cedar on your team is the Bonus !

not sure how random teams would work as they couldnt actually trap togather.
my grandson and i planned to enter it again this year with him doing all the leg work for me as im laid up with this bum leg.In fact its probly the only trapping ill be able to participate in this season. he cant drive and i cant walk so random teams would ace both of us out.
personally i think teams would be fun though but having the option to pick your partner would be nice too.
for those of us without a trapping partner the option to team up with someone on here would be nice but i dont think it should be the rule.
just my 2 cents.

i believe that the reasons we chose weasles is to give us something to do in the dead of winter,something easy to catch to interest kids into trapping, something quite easy to ship, something worth more than those southern coon and most importantly something i will destroy the competition at as i have the secret lure.

Or a Marten Contest where your old lady will hand you your hiney !

She had an excellent teacher. I would be up for the contest. How much is the entry fee and where do we send the money? Who is the judge going to be so I know who to bribe.

Yours would be much higher than the rest of us, just because we would have to listen to your trash talking for 3 months.

Last year entry was $5 for Adults and $1 for the Youth.

All $ collected were donated to the T-man Discretionary Fund as was the Fur check from the Weasels that we sold at NAFA. I believe we had 4-5 that went Top Lot !

My thoughts on the random team drawing was that both the Youth and the Adult trapper would submit a Weasel. Both Weasels would be measured and the total of those 2 entries would be the Team total.

No reason the individuals have to trap side by side.

I could see the Youth asking questions via PM and getting support from the Adult on there team , kind of a mentor program.

I do not care ! Just trying to throw out idea's.
