Richard P. Eagle River Nick and I went by invite to the Chugiak Dog Mushers meeting last night instead of the trapper meeting and gave the 'shared trails' program.

Ran the video and had conibears, foottraps and snares for them to set.
Went well, they were glad to have the hands on experience of how to set traps.

Possibly might see and add in the Alaska Trapper magazine from them for beaver meat in the future. Maybe.

Thanks Nick and Richard.

Don't catch dogs!!!! You may think you're right be everbody's a loser on that deal.

I did a similar thing last summer for the local dog mushers club. Brought in some 330s and showed how they work and how to release them with a rope or a tugline. Everyone was respectful and seemed to appreciate it. Many of them had no clue how a conibear worked.

Tom,

Thanks for doing that.

As far as I can see, the only really bad thing about that DVD is the cheap "talent" that ATA ended up hiring to appear in it...

Do you think that tight shirt makes my gut look too big?

Pete can't say I noticed...will try to remember to watch for that next time...but that could be a while since I gave the DVD to the mushers last night so I guess I owe the Association 10 bucks...

Pittu we should be able to get one to you in case you ever do another presentation. PM me your address.

Pete's being humble the dvd is top-notch

It's a burden going through life being both tall AND fat...!

ATA paid to produce and distribute that DVD because I was getting tired of giving the program itself over and over.

It is VERY popular around here with a lot of "dog groups." Everything from mushers, to retreivers, to Tanana Valley Kennel Club, to Search Dog group.

It really was a good idea to launch the program. It causes all manner of good will for trappers!

I encourage those of you in other areas to avail yourself of a copy and to be willing to go out and give the program. All you have to do is show the DVD and then go over the "logistics" of how to set/open a variety of traps.

Pete
