Jamey Johnson is good too. I agree that alot of it is about as far from real country as it gets but there's still a good one every now and then. I sure liked them older guys though, grew up listening to Merle, George (Jones that is), Jerry Lee, Conway, Porter n Dolly, Mel and Charlie (Pride and Rich)!

If it doesn't have a slide steel guitar and fiddles it isn't country western music!

Jamie Johnson. Shooter Jennings. And if ur into the outlaw stuff Hank Williams the III is great! The rest suck and should be classed as homo-sexual country!

I was talking to my daughter about this one day. (She likes the older country) I mentioned the one of the newer names I thought was pretty good "randy travis" that's when she told me that's old stuff.

I actually like some of Rascal Flatts songs. But they are not real country, more like light rock or pop. They look like a punk group.
I just think a lot of stuff has been grouped into the country genre, that's a little bit of this and that.

Turned off the radio dial from so called 'country' years ago, don't recognize anyone attempting to sing these days.

Don't get Hank lll, Shooter or the rest of that gutter bunch either! They make a racket, that's about it.

Check out Lorrie Morgan's new cd coming out soon, paying tribute to the older songs/singers, looks to be a good one!

There is still some very good country music and some very talented songwriters.
Much of it seems to be ignored by radio.

Jamey Johnson is as good as it has ever been.

And this gal is a very talented songwriter.

I like older everything, classic rock, and country both. The new stuff is just a bunch of noise. What really gets me is the bands that the lead singer screams into the mic, I really hate that. AS for the new country singers,,,,, its not even close to country. Steve Earl, David allen coe, hank williams 2, clint black, older toby keith, and the best of them all,
SAMMY KERSHAW.... "Dont go near the water..." WE all love the "water"....lol

First time I heard David Allen Coe a friend loaned me 3 of his albums. My dad came over and heard the music and said "Now that's good music! Better than that hippy long haired stuff you usually listen to!" ( I was a Black Oak Arkansas fan) I showed him David Allen Coe's picture on the album cover and his mouth dropped open! He said, "That ain't the same guy singing that song, it can't be!" DAC was the first man I ever saw to wear TWO earrings!
