Am wondering if cats are part of a fox's diet ?

House cats are.

grey foxs will slip into the barns to get the smaller cats and kittens , a lot of caines like chewing them ,see no reason why not

Any cat that is in the woods or fields. I'm Not a canine trapper and was wondering? I'm always finding cat toilets and was wondering about a lure type set. I'm sure coyotes do like cats.

Why does cat meat make the best canine bait base?

tbn,,,how do you know cat makes the best canine bait? Are you speaking from experience ? If so do you add anything else to it?

Most,not all,commercial baits are cat based along with horse,groundhog,rattlesnake,mice,etc also. Yes, other things are added.

yes foxs will hunt cats did an ADC job in town on them a while back where the fox where killing house cats if people's yards

Don't know about fox but coyotes will snatch cats right up.

When we had a lot of fox in town you could set on the front porch most nights and watch the fox chase all sorts of stuff right down the street. Most of the time it was house cats. I do know they depleted the cat population in short order. They were pretty good at hunting in pairs. You would see one running a cat down the street then out from a row of trees another fox would shoot out and grab the cat. They would both grab ahold of it and take off through the trees. Really neat to watch. A lot less cat butter in the pickup and garage after that.

Depends on the cat. Over the years I've seen my (normal sized) female cat stand down and chase away foxes. I live in Northern Canada and there are lots of foxes. But, this cat also chases full sized dogs....maybe she's an anomaly.

I've always said that a fox or coyote will walk 5 miles to eat a nice fat house cat.
