Don't forget Mike, you can't buy them if we don't trap them! Its about time we cut production and give the market time to absorb the goods(and there are plenty of them) that are out there....B....

What I am trying to say Brian is dont let price keep you from the sport we all love, and yes we should contol harvest numbers the best we can.I also feel we still need to take care of our landowners that allow use to trap every year, that's right take care of those that take care of you.I know harvest will be down, and I will have more time to deer hunt(first time in five years) and that is great, but I will still try to put some fur on the boards and make my landowners happy as well.Keep the sport alive guy's dont quite on me now...........Ringtailtrapper

So no one has been catching 20+ coons a day and selling them as they go? People must not trap the way many in Iowa do, in other states.

Got $10.00 for two on the carcass yesterday. One was 20+ lbs and the other was real small.

Petska in Ne is paying 6.00 for the best big ones. Don't even want anything small or early. He is mainly buying to get the deer hides also. My Groney buyer is quoting 7.00 top for the same coon. Wouldn't even give a price on finished coon. No one wants the coyotes. I haven't started yetr either, I hate killing blue coon.

I havent set any traps for anything else yet. I have a couple coon spots I can check before work close to home and thats it. I might try to get a few fox/ yote sets out this weekend just for the fun of it. Especially if the coon are selling really cheap. I would like to get a few fisher sets out pretty soon too.
