I want to try some lil grizz traps I just bought. The location I have is a very small, shallow stream that runs through a big swamp and whose banks are loaded with stumps and roots. I need some advice on this because I'm concerned that without the possibility of drowning the coons they will get leverage on the roots and pull out. Thanks for any help.

You shouldn't have to much trouble with them pulling out but try to keep the trap away from roots and sticks for the most part and the grizz is a great trap to just set it anywhere there is any coon sign and you should catch something.

Pulling out isnt the problem,dont let them get tangled in anything, they can wring off a foot. I know this from expereance.
