A 1.5 coil and your favorite raccoon lure (Cavens and Hawbakers make excellant lures) will catch a lot of coons (make sure you are setting on sign)

pocket sets with fish and fish oil and a 1.5 cs or 11ls on a sapling drag will work good

you need to do some research.

Find the archives or just google raccoon trapping basics.

Sorry to be blunt but If you cant help yourself then who can?

That's what the big boys tell me. Why bother learning how to make a good set, reading trapping books and watching videos, and buying good lure and bait when this is so easy?

Gentleman--If you do not care to participate with helpful answers--please don't bother posting on the subject.
THIS IS THE KIDS FORUM,Plain and simple.
Questions are what its all about.
To those that have all the answers, everything is simple. To those that don't its a different story.
Jr. Forget about tinfoil. As mentioned, pocket sets are a very good set. I use them with a slider into deeper water.i bait my pockets with fish,or shellfish bait.I also lure and use fish oil.

Isn't a 220 too big for a coon?

i would work with pocket sets and snaring the trails, almost anything works for bait most people prefer to use fishy smells or peanut butter and marsh mellows. Stake your trap well, and make sure there is nothing in the area that the coon can grab a hold of, once they get a hold of something they will power there way out of it. or you can hook it up to a drowner or grapple on about 7 ft. of chain. lastly make sure you know how to skin them properly, if you do not want to flesh and dry them then just start at the tail and roll it up (so when you undry it you can hang it by its nose and it will unroll as it dries) and put in in a freezer bag and store it in the freezer but make sure the fur is not wet when you put it in the freezer; hope this helps

If you find there trails slap a 160 in there trail.
You will be amazed how many coon you miss with bait sets.
