I have noticed that if you do not check the traps often another mouse will drag the trap with the dead mouse off and eat it. I find that this happens in the winter mostly when food is scarce.

Has anyone tried a bucket trap of mice?
they can catch them by the handfull.

throw deer fat etc in a bucket, have a board at an angle on bucket, theyll climb the board, jump in and gets stuck...

What they heck is a bucket trap? Is it a bucket with a mouse trap in it? How big is the bucket?

I may be wrong but I think it might be a bucket that the mice would crawl into a big bucket for food or something and they cant climb out.

I just trapped about 50 mice during the summer. I took a few mason jars filled them up with mice and stuck the jars in the gound for about 4 weeks ( its was getting cold up here in WI so it wasnt going to taint fast) and pulled them out. Holy cow that stuff is so strong smelling. And the mice were still hole so they were easy to work with. Havent used any at my K9 sets but planning on it soon.

no, 5 gallon bucket, and i think im outta mice..lol...1 year, before i trapped, me and my friend got 500, he would come over ever other weekend, and we had 20 mice traps, and would set em every where, out of them 20, i only salvaged 2...bushog vs. mice traps, who wins? lol

Grousehunter all it was was mice although this summer if I rotted it down to a liquid and added a few oils I could get an even better scent.

you dont want food baits rotted, hope you all know that, you want it tainted then preserved.
