This morning I received confirmation that our wolverine survey is scheduled to take place during the last week of March and/or the first week of April weather permitting. It is my opinion, that we have the best bio and best cub driver this state has ever seen. I think we're fortunate.

I'm of the opinion that ADF&G has some of the best biologists in the world. Too bad they don't also have someone like White17 that is willing to stick his neck out and push the knowledge envelope concerning furbearers. I completely understand that furbearers (and their harvest) don't generate much income for the state coffers, and that big game should take precedence. However, to basically ignore the fur resource is not management. Thanks again to White17 for all his work on this issue. Hopefully, with the right political pressure, we'll see additional ADF&G activity on furbearer management.

An increase in the department budget allocations for furbearers would sure be a bonus if this effort brought that to fruition.
