Look up on the ridges if you have any. They may be eating acorns if they are in your area.

I second the ridges.

I ran into this 2 years ago on a new farm. Lots of sign in the weeks prior to season. Got disgusted and moved 500 yds from the stream into timber (oaks, pine, brush). Actually to go after some gray fox.

The coon... they were in every other set.

Set up the trails with connibers if legal or snares. The coons are walking right by your bait, they are not interested. They are on a mission, probally for corn, and will not stop.

instead of using cubbies pockets sets or natural cubbies might be better.what kind of traps are you using? are you sure youre putting the trap in a good spot in relation to the bait/lure?also for raccoon i personally like a fairly generous amounts of baits and lures on every water set.

Try looking for toilets, usually on large rocks or at the base of trees and on fallen logs and set those heavily.

(P.S Never believe land owners on numbers, saves a lot of disappointments. Especially helpful on nuisance jobs.)
