A truck in good condition will look more professional, but, it's kinda hard to argue against the gas milage factor.

I have done this on a couple of occasions with my car to save fuel.

Does not work too good. You have to remove the carpet in the trunk or it will get destroyed quickly. Keeping a piece of plywood in the trunk helps but you will have problems getting the dirt , poop and urine out. Plus it stinks and you expose yourself to vectors like fleas and ticks. Some animals like coons will find the wires for your tailights and rip them out.

Plus I was always worried about getting rear-ended with a skunk in the back ..... yeesh.

I suppose that it depends on the type of work you intend to do. A car wouldn't work very well if you need to carry ladders, cage traps, exclusion materials, tools, etc. Now if you only need a few foothold traps and supplies for coyote trapping; a car would probably work. Especially on those jobs far away, I want to have everything that I might need with me. You won't save much gas if you have to replenish supplies and equipment between jobs.

One of my mentors told me a story about when he first started trapping and was using a car. He had some foxes in the trunk that were dispatched with a catch pole so he stopped by his mother in laws to show them off. When he opened the trunk two grays came running out and his mother in law almost wet her pants! I guess the catch pole doesn't work to well on grays:)

My wife owns probably the best car for ADC work. A Chrysler Town & Country. We use it a lot for supplies and occasionaly for work. You can fit a 16 foot ladder inside. The seats all disappear so you can get a 4x8 foot piece of plywood in there with room to spare.
After she done with it, I could put a ladder rack on it. but I just don't think it looks professional enough for this business.
I gotta admit it's fun to open the side doors and back by pushing a couple buttons though.
We bought it brand new in 05 for $26000. It's been a good buy.
