I just can't get the hang of these squirrels in attics. Tried all sorts of stuff. They just seem to know what your trying to do. Very trap-shy. In city, gonna have to get me an air rifle, I reckon...

have you tried the tube traps? I have some and do very little squirrel work but when i do the tube traps seem to work wonders. They can be situated over the entry holes like excluding bats but the trap permanetly excludes them from everything. you can check them out at WCS and there was a great post on here not too long ago. Good luck

DWhite, our catch improves dramaticly when we set the cages by the hole on the outside.

Gopher, no I haven't tried the tube traps, but I will. Problem with entry holes here most of time they have several entry points. Usually it is one of these older homes in the historic district of town that has been refurbished. The squirrels chew entry points whenever they get ready. I'll certainly try them, are you talking placing the trap on the outside?

Paul, I haven't tried by the hole on the outside. I had been considering the gutter traps, most of the time gutters are always closeby. Are you just setting traps on roof where you can?

Thanks for the replies guys...

We set the cages right next to the hole. We use a 3 inch screw and don't go to deep. We tar it over if necessary and it usually isn't.
