nov. 18 is the starter.. i catch a few coyotes b4 then becuase i gt a local live market. So i will start posting soon.

noobtrapper, I'd trap cause if you've never trapped before then you've nevere skined or fleshed so it would be good practice to do that stuff on animals that aren't worht much.

Grousehunter, nothing's worth much this year when prime anyway LOL!

Since you all are so sure the fur is not going to have any value, why then are you going to set traps, flesh and stretch fur? We all know you can make more money fiipping burgers then trapping. Just wondering out loud. Tom

because we love being outside and would rather "waste" our money trapping than make money inside

Our dry land coon season started yesterday. Only got to set out 2 sets because my cousin was getting confirmed. Nothing on this mornings check. Set out 4 more sets today after we checked the 2 that I put out last night. 3 out of the 4 sets we made today we caught 5 coon last year at each one so im feeling pretty lucky I might get something tommorow after noon when I check them.

This is my first year trapping, so this is the highest price I've ever been paid for my fur.

Heres the one I got yesterday. My firend shot one and gave it to me so thows are the only 2 I have so far. a big one pulled out of the box today. That thing ripped the side right off of my box! Caught this on my homemade bait.

I had nothing on todays check. Been raining all day and is sposed to carry on through the night so the coon should be running tonight.

Ya that was in a box. I followed your guys advice to move the trap closer to the mouth of the box and caught him the first night.

Nope not today. Woke up this morining and with all the rain weve been getting we had to pull almost all of our box sets because they were completly under water. I dont think the coon are running that much because of this rain.

His lines were about 6 inches long and not an inch wide.

Trapping4life, we actually have 4 coon with only 4 sets out. We are doing horrible compared to last year but this weekend water trapping opens so our numbers should go way up. Also canines open.

We finally got our first skunk of the season today. Sorry didnt take any pics.

Heres some pics of some of the animals we have caught this year. I dident get a pic of the opossum, a few pics are kinda blurry and we had 2 coyotes break traps and get out.

Nice job! The rain messed with everything here. No animals today in around 12 traps and probably wont be able to set out many more traps to Sunday (unless it drys out a lot tonight).

This was what we got on our run today. 4 rats, 1 mink, and 1 coon

Heres a pic of the mink and the rats. This was our first time ever setting for rats so 4 rats on the first check was pretty good.

Heres the catch from today. My dad let me take off from school today to help run the line. 3 Rats, 1 mink and a huge coon was all we caught.

Heres our catch from a few days ago. I think it was wednsday. Il try to get some pics of todays catch.

Heres a pic from today. The fox is our first fox ever! We caught it accidentaly in a pocket set for coon and mink by the river! We plan on getting it tanned or a rug made out of it since it was our first one. We also did pretty well on the coon and rats today.

You did better than me today (I only got 1 Red today).

I got one skunk. He has nice stripes and both split off in to 2 more stripes 3/4 down his body. I will try to get a better picture tomorrow.

caught 2 coons and a small beaver. also had a coon caught by a toe but pulled out and the toe and claw was left in the trap. pics will be here in a little while. cool story about one of those coons.

November 9th catch (2nd check)
That big coon pulled my stake and trap, ran thru the culvert to the other side of the road, ran up the trail into my 220 and was waiting for me with some "bling-bling" on his foot and neck. Re-set the foothold and got the stake in better and angled better.
