I picked up five coon in three nights around the hen house with three Duke #2's. That was last month and now I'm hooked and ready for the pelts to prime up this winter.

My 1st was a was a big boar coon in a northwood # 2 he pulled the stake and was about 50 yrds into the brush when I got to him.
That was in 1980 I was 12.

I was lucky and trapped a Red Fox for my first critter.
I was epecting a coon so it was GREAT!

a whole nest of snakes when I was about 6 yo my Dad caught me mashing snake eggs squirting the little snakes out kina like a cat trying to get a mouse going again after they finished it though. then my first mammal was muskrats it was all I trapped from about 1969-1980 / 81

First animal ever was a coon in a cage trap, but that was to be rid of them, not for fur.

First animal taken for fur was a nutria in a 120.

lots of coons, grays, rats, and grinners....what i expected...fisher in a duke 1 3/4..... seems interesting...
