Where I trap grey fox is very wooded on the mountain and I use cables or wire to trees all the time because it can be very difficult to anchor into the ground.

that would be a drainage pipe with dirt packed over it to get a vehicle across a drainage ditch or some other low or wet spot.

or the trail that the asians took when the traveled across the polar regions. got lost in a snow storm and evolved into eskimos. lol
whichever one applies.

this will be my 2nd year trapping, learn as I go and self taught. last year only had a couple traps and got 3 coon and some (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) oppossums. this year I got more traps, more land, and hopefully more critters. My goal is 20 coon and hopefully some fox or yotes. hopefully prices are better than last year. only averaged 10/hide

14-15 trapping

1/40 coon
0/2 fox
0/4 coyote
2/0 dirty possums
2/0 rabbit
1/0 cats

Ive been seeing these little V shaped dig holes all over the property and relatively close to where I see coon sign. Is this a coon digging or something else? I looked on the interwebs and cant find an answer.

Cone-shaped diggings are usually skunk.

laugh I really haven't seen that much coon sign around my farm this year. I think plowing under corn early had something to do with it.

I'm wondering with early snow in the eastern seaboard and the midwest if that will help out the 'coon market.
Has anyone sold 'coon yet ?

I think you are right LT. The first week of November we had snow and freezing temperatures which had to slow a lot of guys around here. The streams were iced over, corn gone, and snow on the ground. Maybe it will help the market? I guess we will see.

I have found the few days before a big snow gets the old boars moving. I woke up this morning with about 10" of snow on the ground and this 4xl boar in a 220.
