How did you get your trap like that? PAINT? Thanks

It seems the process to get your traps like that are a secret. I believe it has been asked several times on this thread but I have yet to see a detailed answer.

Those traps are dipped in a water based paint, thought I had said that several times.
It is something I've been 'playing around with', since I couldn't get Dip from D.O.A.

I wanted to run it through some hard test before offering it to the public.

Sure hope you have better luck with a water based paint than I did with Rustoleum. It stays on great until you catch 3 or 4 coon and then, well........ LLL

Good point, LLL.
'Coon are one of the hardest animals on traps we have in the lower 48.
The reason I haven't offered it to the public yet.
It works well on fox muskrat and beaver traps.
'Coon are the real test and our 'coon season here was very short.

I use cables with loops on the end on my DPS and just wrap it around the nearest tree, can I do this with legholds also? How about for foxes and coyotes ?

That works well on traps on canines, or 'coon.

I didn't bother to weigh him but if there ever was a thirty pounder it had to be him. Here's another big lob boar I caught.

Do I have to rust my traps before dipping them in speed dip, or just degrease them first?

Just degrease them.
Trappers are the only profession that rust their 'tools' then use a measure to prevent rust.... laugh

ADC coon in a DP. Textbook location. Two fields joined by a land bridge about 10 feet wide with a culvert going through it that connects two drainage streams.

Please excuse my spellin/gramar issues.....haha...a set that i have changed too is the bank cubby set....it is where the hole is connected to the water line funneling the animal much more than a hole 10 inches up the bank....ill try to get a picture...really basic to most guys but i still dont understand how some still use the single hole....my catch ration went way up when i switched....nothing to important here but a basic set that catches fur hopefully help some beginners out!!

By far i am not an expert...feel free to not listen

A hole into a bank cuts down 180 degrees how an animal can work a set.
This also works to your favor on canines and a 'bank hole' set.
