in nick wyshynski's lure making book he speaks of using turtle oil,I was just curious if anyone here makes or uses it?

sorry water trapper,first thing thru my head was....never used turtle oil,but have used a ton of turtle wax.

I have used turtle meat to catch otter, coon, and grey fox.

your right trapr lol I never thought of tutle wax lol. although using the oil couyld lead to more road kills thus, if the animals are not too squished, a bigger fur check. you might be on to somthing here lol.

First time that I have ever heard about it myself, and have never seen a reference to it being available anywhere as an ingredient for lure formulation. I wonder if Nick Wyshinski rendered his own to incorporate into his formulas.

I hate making oil out of something someone will pay good money for thats kinda like using muskrats for bait when I have someone who wants to buy the meat.

probally made it out of the gobs of fat in the turtle, surely someone wouldn't try to make it out of the meat, that stuffs to good to waste!
