This is my first year for working ADC.
I have been called back to do a job for these people I worked for in June. In one week in June I was able to get 1 rat, 4 chipmunks, and 4 for the target woodchucks.
I got called in almost a week ago to get the remaining woodchucks. But I have not caught the [Please excuse my language... I'm an idiot] thing yet!
I have 1 rat and 1 chipmunk. What would be the best lure for these guys? Apple? if so what kind? Lettuce cabbage march mellows?
How about something off the trappers shelf? At the local trappers supply?
Thanks for any help.
James

bananas and brussel sprouts are what I am useing here. Mix it up every rebait if needed. Apples and cabbage one day....the bananas and sprouts next time. A drop of Anise oil has helped get some "difficult" ones. Caught more hogs this year then ever before.

I am assuming that you are using a live trap. When using vegtables for bait don't skimp. Cut four apples up, place 3.5 behind the treddle and the other half in front of the door. They are greedy buggers and sometimes won't enter a trap for a slice of apple. I like to pile bait in there. That keeps them in there eating and gives them more time to step on the treddle.

Can you not set in the den? Double door trap or 120 coni in the den if legal is the quickest way to get rid of groundhogs.

For Wood chucks use either green apples cut in half if that doesn't work then I use canned peaches - pop the lid and put the whole can in the back of the trap. The more syurp the better.

sorry I hadnt replied! I forget I still need to subscribe to my own threads. I did finish up there, and she only lives about quarter mile from my place. So if there were issues I have another phone call or knock on the door.
Didnt get the last ghost woodchuck, even after using baits of all types.
I had been using 120's in the den openings, but these guys had a long time building up there tunnels before I got there.
If I hadnt gotten them all the coyote pee had to have worked well. The damage to there garden had stopped 5 days after my first visit but she "keeps seeing" that last one.
Well that ghost was the one I kept setting for.
She payed me and I pulled my traps. I got payed for what I did remove, and they sounded like almost got a bonus after pulling a mammoth skunk out caught in a 120 entering one of the wood chuck den openings.
I got just over an oz of essence from that guy.
