I have a pair of the tong type ones that I keep in my truck. They are cheap and work fine.I can set almost all of mine by hand but there are plenty of times when it is alot easier to use the tongs to set them.

I can set without them, but when i am beaver trapping they are nice as sometimes the critters are in the way, it also sucks to pinch you hand. I highly recommend them, plus they are fairly cheap, just get a heavy duty pair and paint them orange so you don't lose them, or forget them.

I have some. They will work very well. If you buy the you will have a better chance not to get your fingers caught.

I use the Tongs type.It is the easiest type I have found for using on beavers.Try a rope, push or pull type, when standing in waste deep water--or with a 60 pound beaver in your 330--you will quickly see---why I use the tongs.
One warning with the tongs--never let go of it,when depressing the spring. The spring will jump back to its origanal position, sending one arm of the tongs flying. If any part of your body is in the way of the tongs---you are going to take a real whack.

I use my habds for the most part. But i use rope on those hard to set ones. You might want top look at MTP if you decide to get a pair.
