You guys work Too Hard....
Definitely work hard at this time of year.... but it's so I can take some time off during the winter to fur trap with Dad. I did 3 bat inspections in St. Louis on Friday, but that was an easy day compared to the 5-hours of truck time on Thursday.
I typically perform a good number of bat inspections during June and July. By the time the first of August rolls around, I usually have the fall exclusion schedule filled up. Then it's an intense bat-proofing/exclusion period up until they hibernate.
Basically no other critter work during that period, as trapping isn't possible while spending time on the road doing bat work. After the bat work is finished, I do the clean-outs, followed with some relaxation and winter fur trapping with Dad.
Sure would be nice to have a more evenly spaced work load, but with the two fairly short windows for bat work (early spring / fall) it becomes rather hectic.
Spending the holiday with the family.... a very nice break in the action for a change.
