I certainly don't know the laws or regulations of Wisconsin. Usually though- the best place to start is with your local game warden. He is the one that writes the ticket. Or, contact your state Fish and Game Department. Getting legal advice from a public forum is not a good idea.

I guess before any action was taken I would do that I was just wondering if anyone from wisconsin has dealt with this

I've had a couple calls but the otter in this area seem to be "hit and run". If I ever get a call where the otter stays around long enough to get caught, I would use the Vinke method. Live trap him in a cage.

A fiend of mine has been using the easy set beaver cage from Canada???/ ( I think that is what they are called) using gland lure with good results.........

The gland lure I make is just .....glands squeezed into P glycol.
It will separate but a good shake and you are back in business.

I do believe (imho...lol...)That male vs female glands should be used at differnt times of the year.......

Floating he trap on a platform is a great option

I have never had good luck with bait in the summer.........spoils to fast and food is to plentiful
