is their a certain way to do it? do you also bury the drag or do u just cover it? I've never used one before but was thinkin bout it!!

depends on the location. around here i bury some and some i just make a trench around behind the backing and cover it up. i dont use them much as it takes to much time finding the target animal once caught. they do have their place on the line.

i trap a few places that r real thick but because of bein bottlenecked they move through there but they really tear up the set. Think i might try a drag there,thats why i was wondering

I always dig a trap bed deep enough to place the drag, cover it up with packed dirt so the chain being jerked from the bed doesn't snag the drag point on it way out. Then I carefull coil the chain around and around so it comes smoothly out of the bed without kinking. I cover the chain completely with dirt and bed the trap on top. I emphasize covering the drag well because when the drag gets snagged in the chain one can kiss the trap and animal goodby. Now and then one will have to improvise when they run into large rocks or big roots so one can't dig the bed deep enough. I then plant the drag and chain off to the side of the set or whatever it takes to get it out of sight. Ace
