Sounds Good! Beaver pot pie and beaver stew are hits in this household, even took the pot pie to a pot luck. Got lots of thumbs up and disbelief when I let out the secret!

Oh you dirty Dog.

On your way home stop by my house for some beer and hot wings.... eeeer I mean beaver hot wings. laugh We could discuss the ethics of which gun to use for brush carry just in case of a full on slaught bunny charge. After all, those critters are mean, show no mercy and attack in packs. laugh

Wanna trade beavers? laugh That's a joke btw.

Yeah know Beaver is as good as Chicken but it isn't the other white meat . I make a lot of things out of Beaver and we have it about every year at Camp for our wild game cook out .
Here is some of the things we use beaver in Jerky , slow cooked with BBQ sause comes out like BBQ pork , Stew 's Even Hamburger on the grill ( Doctored up ) Chilly , Sausages , and thats just off the top of my head you need to try it .

I have eaten beaver and it is good, but haven't for a long time as I just figure that why eat it when I have moose, caribou, sheep, and beef?? I try my best to give meat away to those who do eat it and the rest becomes trapping bait or bear bait!

I have never ATE any... but have tricked some..

preparing beaver for a meal is gross. I make enough money I don't need to eat dog food, nor I am that hungry to try it.

Possibly someday I might be in the situation where I don't have a choice, and I may try it then.

Hooves, wings and gills are my requirements..

stuff with fur, paws, mammals with more than 2 toes per foot, claws, webbed feet etc.... no thanks...

Never have tried it before but in Stroganoff or a Pot Pie it sure sounds delicious. I have a really old cookbook with some funny recipes in it for stuff like stuffed roast coon & few different squirrel dishes/chowders. Theres not very many beaver at my location so i leave them alone but now my mouth is really watering to try some since i seen pot pie. smile Have any of you guys ever ate the cat meat from your lynx? Never tried a bobcat yet but i have cooked several cougar roasts. Isnt bad...very dry like antelope but some bacon, toothpicks & a cookbag works miracles for that. Thx for sharing, now im hungry...

Beaver Stroganoff is better than good, even if you make it with one of the dry stroganoff package mixes on the market.
On the subject of stroganoff, Turtle Stroganoff is good too.

See, I knew of at least one perverted soul on this site and he bit! grin

When are we gonna go .300 some more bunnies? I see they are turning 50/50 brown/white now. As long as you have something better then "coors lite" in the fridge I'll take you up on the offer. You [Please excuse my language... I'm an idiot] water drinker you. laugh

The Seahag and I just roasted a fresh beaver. It tasted like beef, but seemed to have an unpleasant after taste. I wonder if it might be because this beaver was a starved to the bones early spring beaver. Is there a difference between the taste of fall and spring beaver?
