hey Bic I wonder if they use the divide and conqure forms when they do the ventral. To me the dorsal is the best way to go. easiest to sew em up.
The only thing I do differant as instructed from other taxidermist is the first cut you go up the back not down it also have watched quite a few videos on mounting animals and they all do it this way too up the back not down it.

I did taxi work during the mid 1960s to late 70s and I was taught the ventral cut ... the difference was at that time we didn't have all of the forms they have now ... most of the time we created are own out of wood wool and other such stuff and then wrapped them with hem twine .... things are all so much easier now ....!!!! .....
