I am going to build a skinning machine. What is the best height and width to mount the clamps? I plan on using it on coons and coyotes. I can build it to be adjusable if I know what the best Height and width are for both.
Is two clamps enough or would four be better?

I use 2 clamps, 20" high and 15" apart (give or take an inch) that works great for me. I'll post you link to pictures here in a second...

most of the processors around here use ones with just one clamp. we're finishing one tomorrow afternoon, just need to mount the floor piece yet. a modified visegrip clamps to the hide just above the base of the tail and wont slip. hope this helps.

Yes the second pully actully slows down the pull so you can watch better to prevent tearing pelts. It was reccomended to me to use it by JMorris and I'd reccomend it as well.

Thanks for the info, guys. TexA -- Are those Tums containers that you're using for storage under the "skinning room TV"? What are you keeping in them? I'm impressed with your organization!
