I spent the last 3 hours looking in the archives, trying to find out how to go about removing the glands from fox. I couldn't find anything on the topic. (although I did get sidetracked on other interesting stuff)
What is the procedure for removing fox glands from the carcass.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is Some pics of glands and where to find them,I will explain where to find them and what to look for.

THE ANAL GLANDS
Just cut around the butt hole and pull about four inches of gut out too, strip out all the poop out of it...This is the gland every lure maker looks for.It is the most popular gland for gland lure

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o20/flyguy2239/DSC01938.jpg

THE HOCK GLANDS
These glands are the second most important gland,They are found on the back legs behind the knee,Look for where the two large muscles meet the knee,Split the muscles apart and look for the fat deposit,The gland is a little pink gland about the size of a half of pea (some are small and some are big)

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o20/flyguy2239/DSC01935.jpg

THE TESTICLE AND FEMALE PARTS
you should know where to find these (the female part is not shown this was a male fox)

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o20/flyguy2239/DSC01936.jpg

THE ARM PIT GLANDS
These glands or found in the arm pit area they are about the same size as the hock glands (shown at the tip of my finger)

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o20/flyguy2239/DSC01948.jpg

THE NECK GLANDS
These are found in the neck area where the head meets the neck in the throat area they also look like the other glands ( it is shown at the tip of the knife)

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o20/flyguy2239/DSC01932.jpg

THE EAR GLANDS
These are found at the base of the ears they look like bumpy fatty muscle ( at the tip of knife)

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o20/flyguy2239/DSC01934.jpg

THE BLADDER
This is in side of the belly some has urine in it some don't looks like a little sac

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o20/flyguy2239/DSC01939.jpg

THE GALL BLADDER
This attached to the liver it has a green fluid in it

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o20/flyguy2239/DSC01940.jpg

Then there is the center foot pad on the back foot,It is a gland BUT not a real important one ( no picture of it )
These glands and their locations are found on all animals.once you recognize them they are easy to find .But before you collect them ask your buyer wants ones they want.
Hope this helps out
