A few people have asked about how to save these shows to your ipod or other digital recording device.
The first hurdle is you need to get them saved to your computer. You can download them directly to your ipod, but i want a backup anyway, so I have themm saved to a live show folder in "my documents."
Go to this link right here...
http://www.trapperman.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/820644.html#Post820644and left click on the red square icon in the upper right of the Talkshoe box.
This should bring up another page that lists all the past shows.
They will come up in order of the most recent at the top. There are two tabs. One is "comments" and the other is to the right of the ear phones and they all start with the letters TS then a number.mp3.
If you scroll down to the show you want to save just right click on the TS tab then left click on "save target as". It will bring up another box and you can then change where you would like to save it such as a trapping folder which you would have to make, or my documents, or on your desk top. At this time you can choose to rename the file. If you don't rename it, it will be saved as the TS number.
Take tonights show which was titled an evening with Jim Blakley and was a show on mink and coon. I simply renamed it blakley mink coon. You can not save it with any / ' : or weird characters such as that. Letters only.
Once you have it titled the way you want it and are saving it to the location you want just click on save.
BE PATIENT! It takes a while. I have a fast computer and am on DSL and it takes about 20 minutes. If you live in the dark ages down in Texas it may take hours. Whatever you do, do not shut your computer off or anything like that till it is done saving.
Now once you have it saved and you want to load it to your ipod all you have to do is hook up your ipod to your computer and when it is ready, click on upload. Find the file you want to upload and double click on that and it will automatically load it to your ipod.
It will show up as a song and the artist will be "unknown artist" but the song title will be what you have it saved under, such as Blakley mink coon.
The only problem is that there are no chapters. You can fast forward and rewind, but you can't jump up a chapter at a time. So if you are listening to it and bump it you'll have to hold the FF or RW button till you get to where you left off.
On my ipod, if I shut it off while listening to a show it somehow remembers where I am so when I turn it back on it takes me to the spot where I left off.
It might sound difficult but it is rfeally quite easy and to be honest, I've listened to some of the live shows 5 or 6 times. You pick a little something new up each time!
