How would the colour of the 330 help you think?
I'd say Black is best...no?

I do not think it will hurt using a color to blend a trap to the color of the natural vegetation in the area being trapped. It looked real good with some of that swamp grass covering the springs and top trap jaws. Natural to the terrain. I bought some 330's that were spray painted a drab green and have had good luck with them also. I will be experimenting some more with tans and greens.

My dyed black LDL has worked good so far. Completely submerged and with some exposure. Should of had more beave with it though. I didn't clean the back of the bank properly at one location, so the trap couldn't fire right and it smacked the beave that was coming in. So no catch, and an educated beave.

My conibears are camoflauged black and brown with spray paint. Title: "why coyotes avoid snares and a little beaver talk" grin

Funny how that works.

Now, now we love you MN. Don't get angry.
But would you be so kind to tell us instead what was the bad beaver advice?
I'm all ears.

I would assume it was the advice to paint 330's white for underwater. Certainly had me scratching my head.

Lets get back on track here. This yote was avoiding my snare so i funneled him in a little better by placing cattails in the trail that they made going around my snare. Two days latter had this mangy looking thing. Im not reall great at snaring yet but out of 2 snares i have two yotes. Here they both are.

LT... I swear I catch more coyotes in snares hung specifically for beaver than I do when setting for coyotes. Most of the time it is a pond dam or some sort of slope like a ditch or embankment, no flat trails. Can anyone answer me why this might be? I had a small stick leaned over this snare to prevent deer from knocking it down.
