FW: Ammunition Accountability Act‏ Sent: January 1, 2009 12:01:31 PM Is this an ear mark of what is coming down the pipes?? The 2008 Legislative session has begun, and the Ammunition Accountability Act is being introduced across the country. Below is a list of states where legislation has already been introduced: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington. http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his minions and allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo! The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture, a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded. Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand-loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more! If they can depriv e you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

How is a person supposed to encode reloaded ammo ? Answer:::: Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand-loaded ammo.)So they will use the same premise as used with moonshine. You can make it, but if it doesn't have the Nanny State Seal of approval, your shine and your bullets are contraband.

The point is when this passes you will be lock up when you are cought with ammo that isn't encoded. Once they pass this I would guess there will be a limit place on the amount of ammo you can buy. Then when no one has any ammo they will take our guns. In my mind it does no good to stash ammo and guns if you can't use them. The best thing to do is act now and not wait until it is too late. I am not sure what should be done but something has to change or we are finished. It is not something one person can do. Maybe every gun owner should move out of the state that passes this bill. We need a wake up call. Also watch for the media to say how much crime has dropped once this is passed to help push it through the rest of the states.

They would have to check every trap, and skeet shooter, every small and big game hunter every time they were out in the field. That would be a huge waste of resources on law enforcement that could be better spent fighting real crime.

Read the ban. It covers handgun and assault rifle ammo. I couldn't get the calibers listed to upload yet.

Years ago you had to register each box of ammo purchase. Then the found out the volumne of paper work was insane, so they dropped rimfire ammo, and the paper pile was still too much, so they dropped all rifle and shotgun ammo, then they found out even registering pistol ammo had no crime deterrent or prevention value, so they dropped that too. I wouldn't get too het up about it, it's unenforceable.

In my mind nothing is unenforceable unless you are dealing with a criminal. They can enforce what ever they make the priority.
