I have 6 so far. BIG blizzard last night but my boxes are tucked away inside culverts....just have to dig them out. I am beginning to like weasel trappin more than mink trappin. WAIT! Did I say that? Actually I like trappin mink in the snow using the mailbox cubby or just trail sets where it narrows down or ice heaves along the big rivers where they enter/exit under the ice. It ain't easy trappin and the catch is half of what fall trapping is but the fur is totally prime.

I raised my hole up an inch or so this year.

Last year I got pretty much every one on the way out of the box. Did a little more reading on here and I figure the holes were too low. So far, so good.

2poor, others, how many do you guys take at a dynamite location?

Do you ever see refusals? I had tracks by a box last night but not a taker. Just wondering how common that is.

i often take 6 or 7 at a good location, a good location is something pretty big that i'm just hitting the edge on. take one out and another takes its place.

refusals? all the time, give him another few days and he will get caught. its the ones that go in but don't get caught that are a problem.

nice catch on that one, they look much better put up when they are killed quicck like that.

thumbstatetrappr, thanks for the info, the tracks I seen were weasel. Have to put a box out there tomorrow. Going to try a few milk jug set's also.

I don't. i have had to search for traps when the weasel was able to flip the top of the box off and get out, they don;t go far.

i would rather fasten the lid then the trap, way easier to reset the trap if you can take it out, and you may need to switch out traps too.
