Does anyone here do yearly contracts for beaver? I try and set them up this way mostly for government entities.
Gives me time to balance out the year and not feel rushed in 95 degree heat and high humidity which feels like 105 sometimes. Deadly heat is no joke. This week it will get to 108 with the humidity. That sucks and is deadly. I have indoor jobs to take up the slack.
Headed out to inspect a grocery store for a snake. Pays well and AC isnt bad. Might even get a free sub from the deli out of the deal. You'll be safe out there.

I found when older guys quit trapping they rarely start up again. I mean rats go up a buck .I don’t think that’s much incentive . They aren’t five bucks .

Usually one of two things for the older fellas. They either physically can't meet the demands of running their trap line the way they used to, or they have found the couch and it's hard for 'em to get off . . .

Powder coated all my snow traps white. Dyed and waxed my other footholds, and all my wolf drags. Built an open sided (just a roof, no sides) shed down in the brush at the bottom of my property, a couple hundred yards from any habitation, etc. to hang all my canine gear. Built a couple dozen new wolf traps. Made myself some new, fancy, adjustable setters.

Still need to boil and dye my conibears, make waxed sand, powder coat the new traps I made, and make a few more drags to go with them.

Absolutely correct.

No one can look away from a phone long enough now to get outside and do anything. I did run into a beaver trapper a few years ago illegally trapping off the right away, was shocked to see a beaver trapper, hadn't seen one in 30 years, lol. He explained to me you could get 500 dollars a beaver and he had even caught an otter so they were worth even more, it was pouring down rain and he was excited as a 13 year old at six flags! I asked who told him beaver were bringing that and he said he saw it on Mountain Men, hahaha. I told him good luck and haven't seen him 'trapping' since, lol.

All our new 'trappers' i imagine will still trap again this year, dp's around their corn feeders and such, some coyote traps here and there. Everything including bobcats gets tossed in the ditch, they could care less what anything is bringing, just trying to save another deer and turkey.

Last years button bucks are up to 5 to 6 inches already. By fall most will be tight 6 or even 8 pointers. The does hate them and pound the crap out of them when they come into the feeders.

I went to find a funny any which way but loose long armed ape pic and the middle finger one made me laugh. Thought I'd edit it for Paul.

What Teacher said. I sold lots of small square bales of hay. Mostly to horse people. Off the field was one price. If it was on the hay rack that was higher. Once it was in the barn that was even higher. That was for first cutting. Second and if I was lucky enough to get a third cutting those went right in the barn and the cost was even higher. You can't give your time and equipment costs away. Yes, most of my buyers were repeat customers.
