I saw this and just went and immediately raised some of my prices. I've been considering it on and off for weeks. . Inflation is up 25.67% since 2020. Some weeks, I make what would have seemed like good sales back in 2020, that now barely cover expenses. Money feels worthless now, because it is worth less.
Just signed up for the High Deductible G plan here in Iowa today. $2900 a year max out of pocket, some copays when go the doctor. For the plan and extra that covers hearing, dental and vision, came in at $183 a month. For another 53 a month I could get cancer insurance. Also some other benefits including yearly gym membership, Life Line Screening and a couple smaller things. Was issued by Physicians Mutual. Time will tell.
My knee an leg, an foot, swelled bad, feels like on fire the last 3 days, increased swelling , I don't know it worth it, If I fall an break it, curtains
The knife cleaned up fairly nice, compared to what it used to look like. All the leather was cleaned with Saddle Soap, and a few days later I followed up with Neatsfoot Oil. The blade still has some staining. going to try some Flitz on it next. Fun project.
I found this recipe online while I was thinking about what I was gonna make for supper. It’s eggs, milk, carrots, baking powder, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and oat bran. I didn’t have any oat bran so I used almond flour instead. I put a little honey on it and it got pretty good, if I do say so myself.
It’s supposed to be a breakfast item so I guess like Rat Pack, I had breakfast for supper.
Fuel prices are no higher than they were during the Biden years. My insurance is the same price.
I do mostly beaver work. Not able to do large property predator work anymore. I charge by the day based on miles from my residence. Within 30 miles is my base price. Beyond 30 to 45, I bump it up $25 per day. Over 45 to 60 is another $25 bump per day. I measure straight-line miles from my residence to the jobsite....not actual highway miles. I also only charge for days I check traps. I do not charge for the day I visit the site to meet with landowner/manager to look it over or the 1st day I set traps. Sometimes those 2 days are the same...sometimes not. Most jobs are done in 7 days or less. Georgia has a 24 hr check law.
I'm the sole beaver guy for a local timber company. When it's wet, they give me a lot of work. I charge them the base rate no matter how far away the job is. Their land holdings are all within 60 mile radius of my home. Most within 30 miles.
I trap beavers when called for a large farmer that has multiple properties all with 15 miles. He is the only customer that I charge by the beaver.....$75/beaver. He's usually good for one call a year.
This is just how I price my beaver work. 99% of potential customers are satisfied with the pricing. I have all the work I want.
If people are willing to shell out 154,000,000 just sit down and watch a NBA game [ 7700 avg price per seat X 20,000 seats] I would guess there is some money out there for the market.
Thats nuts...but, if you earned it, you deserve to spend it how you like.
Then again, a loaf of bread was $0.99 not too long ago.
Thats a good guess, its the only bait shop in town.
Yes. I went to see him today. It appears, it was more of an aneurysm (brain bleed), not so much a stroke. They did surgery to drain of the blood and he will be in ICU 3-4 weeks, it seems. Still running scans to pin down the problem area. He's talking and complaining about being bed ridden, so I see that as a positive.
Theres houndsmen that train dogs that dont tolerate it and trade for a diff hound. They dont want a dog thats not smart enough to eat their own crap. Same thing with stepping on it in the kennel. Never heard of the chews.
